Women in Manufacturing Scholarship

Deadline to apply: September 28, 2018

Did you know, in Canada women account for 47.5 per cent of the labour force but only 28 per cent of the manufacturing workforce? What is even more alarming, there has been no increase in the share of manufacturing jobs held by women over the last 30 years.

Attracting more women into manufacturing professions is not only critical to helping companies grow and to replace the existing and aging workforce, it provides women with careers that are high value, high tech, highly skilled and high paying.

To help attract women to careers in manufacturing Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME) is pleased to announce the establishment of a scholarship awards program for women in manufacturing. In partnership with Fiera Foods, CME has created this scholarship to support the education of women who are planning to pursue a career in manufacturing. CME and Fiera Foods will award a total of 10 scholarships each in the amount of $4,000 beginning 2018 through to 2020.

Deadline to apply for 2018 scholarship:

September 28, 2018

Available to:

Women currently pursing an education or apprenticeship in Canada that will lead to a career in manufacturing in Canada

Award amount:

In 2018 four (4) $4,000 scholarships will be awarded

Judging panel:

A judging panel comprised of leaders in manufacturing will be responsible for evaluating qualifying entries

Scholarship notification:

Scholarship recipients will be notified on or around October 26, 2018 and will be invited to attend CME's Annual General Meeting & Manufacturing Conference to receive their award

Award ceremony:

The 2018 recipients will be awarded at CME's Annual General Meeting & Manufacturing Conference on November 7th in Ottawa
