Jewellery maker plans Canadian expansion

Published by Steve Coleman on August 04, 2011

After breaking the ice in Russia, New Jersey jewellery maker Bergio International is planning an expansion into Canada.

The company says it has been in negotiations with a Canadian firm to expand its product line north of the international border and plans to "draw on its ongoing relationship with Neiman Marcus" to help make the deal happen.

Bergio International currently sells it jewellery to an estimated 50 jewellery retailers in the U.S.
Bergio runs its main production facility in New Jersey and subcontracts work to other sites in the United States and Italy.

The company says it has made its mark in the $160 billion a year jewellery industry through acquisitions and consolidation.
