Alaskan gas producers consider Asia

Canadian plans to build a pipeline to carry western crude to Asia.

North Slope oil producers in Alaska said Jan. 5 that the only profitable way to pull natural gas out of the ground is to send it farther west.

The chief executives of BP and Conoco Phillips said they plan to work with Exxon Mobil to develop a liquid natural gas project to get the fuel to tankers.
