New export controls come into effect

Published by Steve Coleman on December 21, 2011

A new set of controls have come into effect for Canadian importers and exporters.

Foreign Affairs and International Trade's Export Controls Division made several changes to the Export Control List, effective Dec. 16, although they won't be published in the Canada Gazette until early 2012.

Changes made to the list included dual use, military, miscellaneous, technology, chemical and biological weapon items. For a more-detailed look at what changed, visit the ECD web site.
