CME expresses thanks to outgoing MP Rob Merrifield

Published by Brad Fougere on September 17, 2014

Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME) acknowledges the efforts of outgoing MP Rob Merrifield and wishes him the best in new pursuits.

“On behalf of CME and our member companies, I would like to express my deepest thanks to MP Rob Merrifield for his service in the House of Commons," said CME President and CEO Jayson Myers. "Rob has always been a steadfast supporter of the Canadian manufacturing and exporting sectors. In his positions as Minister of State for Transport, and later as the chair of the Standing Committee on International Trade, Rob worked to ensure that manufacturing and exporting sectors were at the forefront of priorities for this government.”

As an MP for Yellowhead, Rob was also a leading advocate in support of the Alberta manufacturing sector. His work with the Canadian embassy in Washington has been critical to the success of Alberta manufacturers.

“On behalf of CME and our network of member companies, I would like to extend our best wishes to Rob as he begins his new role with Alberta provincial government,” Myers said.
