CAW, Bombardier reach tentative agreement

Published by Steve Coleman on August 11, 2011

The Canadian Auto Workers union has recommended putting an early end to a day-old strike at the Thunder Bay, Ont. Bombardier plant.

Negotiators reached a proposed settlement to end the walkout at the railcar assembly plant just a day after the labour dispute began.

The union's 700 members at the factory are expected to vote on the deal this weekend.
