Certification will open skies for Bombardier’s C-Series: CME

Published by Brad Fougere on December 18, 2015

Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters welcomes today’s announcement that Bombardier’s new CS100 Aircraft has received certification from Transport Canada.

“This is an important milestone for the C-Series project, for Bombardier and for the thousands of Bombardier’s suppliers and their employees across Canada who are working hard to make the C-Series a commercial success,” said CME President and Chief Executive Officer Jayson Myers. “Today’s announcement is also an important milestone in Canadian aviation history. Bombardier is bringing to market the only new family of aircraft developed for the 100-to-150 seat market segment in close to 30 years – this is a standout accomplishment."

Transport Canada certification will open the way for the CS100 aircraft’s delivery and entry into service with its first operator SWISS early next year.  Certification of Bombardier’s CS300 aircraft is expected within the next six months.

“The C-Series will generate well-paying jobs and business opportunities for manufacturers, technology, and services companies right across Canada.  It is a great example of Canada’s engineering and manufacturing capabilities, and of our strengths as a leader in global aerospace.”
