SMTC to buy Silicon Valley firm

Published by Steve Coleman on September 09, 2011

SMTC Corp. has manufactured a deal to buy San Jose-based ZF Array Technology Inc.

The Canadian manufacturer and the American company with roots in California and China will become part of the Canadian manufacturer's holdings after the $9.1 million acquisition deal goes through.

Both companies plan to streamline their operations and could increase both staff and their customer base in California's Silicon Valley.

SMTC describes itself as a "preferred Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) provider with over 25 years of experience working in partnership with industry-leading Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs)."

ZF Array Technology specializes in electronics manufacturing services such as quick-turn prototypes, standard run and high volumes as well as rework projects.
