Group steps up efforts for new western oil pipeline

Support is growing for a new pipeline linking the Athabasca oil sands and Canada's west coast.

A business group seeking approval for the $6.6 billion Northern Gateway project wants to load Alberta oil onto ships where it would be taken to California and Asia.

A Globe & Mail report says some of the biggest backers behind the project are Chinese.
