Solar panel maker adds 50 new jobs

Published by Steve Coleman on August 04, 2011

The sun shone Aug. 4 on a Kingston, Ont. solar voltaic panel maker.

Centennial Global Technology announced it will add 50 new jobs to its Kingston production facility to increase the number of panels it produces annually.

An Ontario government grant to the company will go toward automated equipment to increase production capacity to meet increased demand for solar panels created by the province's Feed-in Tariff program.

Some of the cash has also been set aside to improve the company's skills training programming.

This is the second time this year that the company has added to its workforce. Earlier this year, Centennial Global Technology added 10 new people to its 20,000 square foot Kingston production site.
