Published by Frank Defalco on February 25, 2014

Montreal - Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME), the largest trade and industry association in the country announced the pursuit and development of its partnership with Leading Boards, the leader of paperless solutions for boards of directors and committees.

Since April 2012, the national board of directors as well as the directors of the Quebec organization (MEQ) and more than 600 users registered in its action groups use the board portal. A business case study was conducted with these directors and the results confirm that the Leading Boards portal has become a “must have” governance tool.

“For Canadian manufacturers and exporters, Leading Boards is the collaboration tool of the future that all businesses should have in their toolbox. Today, the success of our businesses depends on their ability to communicate and collaborate effectively, Leading Boards offers technology at the forefront in this field." states Simon Prévost, president of the MEQ.

This cutting-edge technological solution has eased administrative tasks and the daily management of the board, freeing time for the promotion of good governance practices. Data is hosted in one location, on dedicated Canadian servers, certified by international security standards. The board portal allows a free, rapid and highly secure communication of relevant information to users, removing the risk of losing, forgetting or being robbed of confidential paper documents.

Unlimited access to the portal and its manageable format has improved directors’ efficiency. The third generation iPad application allows members to benefit from the mobility of the portal and the intuitive features of its user-friendly interface. With all the necessary information at all times at their fingertips, on the Internet or offline, the board portal leads to well informed directors who make better decisions.

Through the Industry Benefits Program (IBP) the CME provides the Leading Boards portal to its members at preferred rates to help them improve their productivity and governance.
