New $20 to be third polymer bill

Published by Steve Coleman on April 30, 2012

The third note in Canadian paper money's swan song will become public May 1.

The country's new $20 bill will be launched at the Bank of Canada's main office in Ottawa featuring a tribute to the country's war veterans.

Canada's third polymer bank note will be the $20 bill, the most-circulated bill in the country. The newest note will feature an updated portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on the front and the Canadian National Vimy Memorial on the back.

The $20 note will be issued later this year. The remaining bank notes in the series will be issued by the end of 2013.
