Time to Go Global: CME

Published by Brad Fougere on November 27, 2014

Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters welcomes the update released today by Minister of International Trade Ed Fast regarding implementation of Canada's Global Markets Action Plan.

"Canadian businesses are looking for new customers, suppliers, partners, and investment opportunities in new markets around the world," says CME CEO Jayson Myers. "It's essential that we ensure they can access the services that will help take them there and support new business ventures.

"That's why the GMAP is so important, and why CME is actively partnering with the Canadian Trade Commissioner Service, Export Development Canada, the Business Development Bank of Canada and the Canadian Commercial Corporation to raise awareness about the great services available to Canadian firms doing business in international markets."

With the assistance of these partners CME has launched the Enterprise Canada Network which is dedicated to identifying qualified leads for international business and technology partnerships.

CME is also hosting a series of Go Global events across Canada in order to promote the opportunities and the support services available to Canadian businesses working in international markets.

"Through Minister Fast's leadership Canada has opened new markets and new opportunities around the world. And, we have a strategy that aligns support to help Canadian companies realize those opportunities," Myers adds. "But ultimately it is up to businesses themselves to take advantage of these opportunities and services. And the time to act is now."
