"Fibracast's innovative and transformative membrane technology is a first in Canada and will help meet the growing global demand for water while creating long-term jobs to this region and across Canada," said Minister Goodyear of the company who will receive a $10 million repayable contribution to the $20 million project.

"As we enter a new, key phase in our company's growth, the Government of Canada's support will allow us to accelerate the commercialization of our innovative FibrePlate membrane technology," said Tomescu.

Announced in 2013, the Advanced Manufacturing Fund is to provide $200 million in funding to assist Southern Ontario manufacturers to develop cutting-edge technologies and large-scale activities that will improve processes and increase productivity, establish clusters or global supply chains and collaborate with private sector, and research and post-secondary institutions.
