Paradis announces new innovative development agenda

Today, Christian Paradis, Minister of International Development and 
Minister for La Francophonie, announced during his speech at the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal, an innovative development agenda within the newly amalgamated Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development. 

This policy will help Canada’s development activities by working with and assisting the private sectors of partnering countries with their fight against poverty. It will harmonize international aid with the their values and goals, and highlight how development has become a priority in Canada equal to trade and diplomacy.

“Any policy that helps the Government of Canada’s in its efforts in assisting developing countries grow and prosper CME strongly supports,” say’s CME President and CEO Jayson Myers. “This aligns well with the global commerce strategy announced last week to open new markets for Canadian manufacturers.”

Policy that emphasizes collaboration with the private sector to create sustainable economic growth is good policy for Canada’s exporters and its partnering countries.
