Joint venture to produce world's first

A new specialized branch of the Quebec forest industry is moving from harvesting trees to mass producing the building blocks for other materials.

A joint venture between FPInnovations and Domtar Corporation in Windsor, QC will unveil the world's first NanoCrystalline Cellulose demonstration plant on Jan. 26.

The nanomaterial created from cellulose can be used in a host of applications ranging from food and cosmetic additives to spun fibres and textiles and the aerospace industry.
