Law firm lists top three Canadian business concerns

Published by Steve Coleman on October 14, 2011

Canadian business leaders rank profitability, a high dollar and finding the right people for the job as their biggest worries for the next year.

When it comes to finding answers, executives polled by business law firm Miller Thomson LLP say they're more likely to look to customers for solutions than they are government.

The company polled 200 senior business executives in several sectors at the beginning of August about who has the most impact on business decisions and how much confidence they have in the provincial and federal governments to make things right.

"What we are hearing from Canadian business leaders is that external economic forces are clearly taking a toll on corporate bottom lines," Gerald Courage, Chair, Miller Thomson LLP said in a release. "There is no doubt that a high Canadian dollar has been a major factor, so it is reassuring to see some recent relief in this area."
