Cigarette production, inventories increase

Canadian cigarette manufacturers were on a roll in November.

Statistics Canada says domestic tobacco companies produced 1.9 billion cigarettes in November, a 4.7 per cent increase from the previous month.

The total number of domestic cigarettes sold in Canada decreased 2.4 per cent to 1.7 billion for the month, while closing inventories increased 5.9 per cent to 2.7 billion cigarettes.
