Alberta productivity group goes private

Published by Steve Coleman on September 19, 2011

Alberta has a new not-for-profit company with plans to make the province the most productive in Canada.

While Productivity Alberta opened its doors in 2008, the agency was recently incorporated as a private not-for-profit company to help Alberta businesses streamline how they do things.

The Alberta government spinoff was set up as a one-stop shopping centre for small- and medium-sized businesses in the industrial products and services sectors.

The new company works with a variety of tools to try and help customers become more efficient. The list of services includes items such as an on-line assessment tool, site visits and do-it-yourself toolkits for energy efficiency.

The company introduced its first board of directors on Sept. 13.
