Canada needs to accelerate gas infrastructure projects

Canadian liquid gas producers are on the verge of missing the rush to Asia, says an Ernst & Young report and federal Natural Resources Minister Joe Oliver.

Joint ventures could be the turning point for companies looking to cash in on Asia's growing need for natural gas. Without them, Canada could lose out to foreign competitors who are already gearing up to keep the gas flowing.

Competition already poses the potential of shutting Canada out of the market, a US news report says.
