North American companies look to source supplies from more places

Published by Steve Coleman on August 30, 2011

North American manufacturers reported more hiccups than predicted in their supply chains during the second quarter of 2011.

A review of the state of the continent's manufacturing sector says hiring is up, but fewer companies are willing to look at exporting as an option and even less plan to bring their overseas operations home.

The survey, done by MFG.com, also says more businesses want to expand on the number of companies they use as suppliers. Check the following link for a more-detailed look at the findings.
