Published by Frank Defalco on March 10, 2014

José Jacome has been named interim head of Québec Manufacturers and Exporters (MEQ) effective immediately.

M. Jacome, formerly the General Manager of MEQ, succeeds Simon Prévost who has resigned the presidency in order to run in the forthcoming provincial election.

“We are grateful to Simon Prévost for his contribution as President of Québec Manufacturers and Exporters,” says Bernard Labrecque, Chairman of MEQ.  “Simon was a strong advocate for his members across a broad spectrum of Québec manufacturing enterprises of all sizes.  His numerous initiatives were highly regarded by the government and led to results including the launch of a new Québec Manufacturing strategy and important export initiatives."

“I am confident that José Jacome will carry on the good work that he and M. Prévost have initiated,” says Jayson Myers, President of Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters.  “Our first interest is always to support our members.  There are many challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for Québec manufacturers and exporters, and MEQ will be there strongly representing their interests.”
